Cracked Pots Plant Garden Art Show Edgefield or

I call up this was my 3rd trip to Edgefield for the Crackedpots show. Wandering the gardens of Edgefield is always a practiced time, add together in people watching, stuff for sale...and it's a fun outing. While most of the artist's creations are not my mode (there's a lot of "whimsy") there are always a few things I'd similar to bring abode and the idea backside the the show is one I wholeheartedly support: "Crackedpots is a volunteer driven not-profit devoted to waste reduction in our community. Creative reuse - reclaiming and re-imagining - is at the centre of all we do."

I've talked up the planter I bought last year from Indio Metal Arts and was thrilled to see her  piece of work in the aforementioned location this year...

Aren't these great?

I was really eyeing this one,  a square pot on a spike and so information technology hovers higher up the footing. Pretty fabled correct? I stood at that place thinking over the buy and managed to talk myself out of it. My garden is pocket-size, I've got a lot going on. I need to be careful I don't add and so much visual clutter (cool clutter is still clutter) you are no longer able to see the plants for the containers. I passed. And I am happy I did. But I hope someone took this beauty home!

Moving on I was taken with this sconce/vase/thing. Pretty fabulous right?

As was the i on the correct, the simple foursquare container. I'm sure someone will be enjoying these, only that person is non me.

I was hesitant to snap a lot of photos of the items for auction, knowing these are people who've spent fourth dimension dreaming up and creating things, I didn't want them to think I was snapping photos so I could attempt to replicate what they'd come up up with. And so — on that note — time for a lilliputian plant viewing.

I should take asked a passer-past to pose with the Gunnera, it'southward huge!

As are it'southward blooms.

Ane of the very outset Magnolia macrophylla I ever saw (in the heart, up against, only taller than, the building). I similar to visit it to remind myself just how alpine Clifford tin can get.

A friend of mine used to live in an ivy-covered flat building, he told stories of spiders. I wonder if they're a trouble for the hotel guests?

I appreciated that someone was kind enough to buy this fellow a beer.

The grand hotel, which was built in 1911 every bit the canton poor subcontract. Andrew and I have talked near staying hither, a quick "weekend away" kind of thing for a summertime concert on the lawn (information technology's just 12 miles from our home), but we never have.

More art for sale, flowers behind the flowers.

There were interesting, informative signs throughout the garden.

I specially appreciated this i — at a sale where you're potentially ownership more than stuff you probably don't need!

Oh, and there's a plant auction! Mostly plants that have been propagated by the McMenamins gardeners, but a few others too. Nosotros'll come back to this.

I photo these huge troughs every time I visit.

They're just and so fabulous.

Every bit is the Agave americana var. medio-picta 'Alba'.

And the Puya...

Moon carrot! (Seseli gummiferum)

I practice love a green wall...

I photographed these same Aeonium in this same spot last year.

Surely they didn't spend winter here.

Cuphea, I believe?

Look, infinite for your next outdoor result! Which volition hopefully be held on a twenty-four hour period with a clear heaven and no smoke, this was another very bad twenty-four hour period, air quality wise, here in the Portland expanse.

Fabulous!

To the veggie garden...

Brand that fruit and veggie...

On another side of the belongings I was excited to peruse the offerings from Reclaim It!, the retail arm of Crackedpots.

Here you tin can shop items that haven't nevertheless been creatively up-cycled.

Barrel rings for $half dozen...

I managed, once once again, to just walk away. All the same I did walk back to the plant sale. Yep indeedy.

I go along meaning to add together one of these to the garden.

And who tin can't utilize a couple more Echium russicum?

At only $3.l each I bought three, and a Centaurea atropurpurea.

And then I ventured on, back towards the auto, but stopped to admire the keg planters. Plumbing fixtures when you've got an onsite brewery.

Hitting variegation.

That flower is humongous!

My hand for calibration.

Wowsa.

The winery called, but I was potent and walked on past...
